The role
You will build and maintain the automated systems the screening groups depend on — liquid handlers, plate readers, schedulers and the integrations that connect them to our data platform.
What you will do
- Program, maintain and troubleshoot automated liquid handling and screening platforms
- Integrate instruments with scheduling software and downstream data capture
- Work with scientists to translate assay protocols into robust automated methods
- Own preventive maintenance and vendor escalation for automation assets
- Document methods and train scientists to run them independently
What success looks like at 12 months
Automated runs complete unattended overnight, scientists book time rather than asking for help, and unplanned downtime has dropped.
What we require
- Experience with laboratory automation platforms and their scripting environments
- Mechanical and software troubleshooting ability
- Understanding of assay principles sufficient to talk to scientists as peers
- Onsite role at a laboratory site
What we would like, but will teach you
- Python scripting
- Experience with LIMS or ELN integrations
- Background in equipment maintenance from another regulated or technical industry
If you meet the required list, apply. We cap the preferred list at four items on purpose, and we would rather read an application from someone who is 70% there and hungry.
