The role
You will run the microbiological testing that protects sterility — the part of quality where being approximately right is not a thing.
What you will do
- Perform bioburden, endotoxin, sterility and environmental testing
- Investigate microbial excursions, including identification and impact assessment
- Maintain aseptic technique and laboratory controls to a high standard
- Support media fills, cleaning validation and qualification activities
- Trend microbiological data and escalate meaningful signals
What success looks like at 12 months
Your testing is on time with clean documentation, excursion investigations reach real conclusions, and your trending has prompted at least one preventive action.
What we require
- Degree in microbiology or a related science, or equivalent laboratory experience
- Aseptic technique and comfort in a controlled environment
- Meticulous documentation
- Willingness to work a shift pattern including weekends
What we would like, but will teach you
- Pharmaceutical microbiology experience
- Rapid microbiological methods
- Military laboratory or preventive medicine background

Onsite at Devens, MA on a 12-hour rotating shift, typically 3-on/4-off alternating with 4-on/3-off, days and nights. Shift differentials of 12–20% apply on top of base.
Pay and rewards
This role sits at grade 6, with a base range of $80,000 – $104,000 for this location, plus annual bonus, retirement contributions of up to 9%, and day-one benefits. See the full package.
