The role
You will apply machine learning to problems in drug discovery and development — where the data is small, noisy and expensive, and a confident wrong answer costs a great deal.
What you will do
- Develop and validate machine learning models for discovery or development problems
- Work with domain scientists to frame problems that ML can genuinely help with
- Build robust validation that reflects real prospective use
- Deploy models into workflows scientists actually use
- Communicate uncertainty honestly, including when the answer is 'not enough data'
What success looks like at 12 months
A model of yours is in real use by scientists, its validation holds up prospectively, and you have talked the organisation out of at least one bad ML idea.
What we require
- Advanced degree in machine learning, computer science or a quantitative field
- Strong Python and modern ML tooling
- Rigour about validation, leakage and overfitting
- Interest in the underlying biology or chemistry
What we would like, but will teach you
- Molecular property prediction or protein modelling
- MLOps and model deployment
- Publications or open source contributions

Pay and rewards
This role sits at grade 9, with a base range of $131,000 – $169,000 for this location, plus annual bonus, retirement contributions of up to 9%, and day-one benefits. See the full package.
