The role
You will keep the laboratories running: consumables, equipment, calibration schedules, safety and the hundred small things that stop science when they stop working.
What you will do
- Manage consumable ordering, stock levels and vendor relationships across the labs
- Coordinate equipment servicing, calibration schedules and qualification records
- Support onboarding of new laboratory staff, including safety training
- Maintain chemical inventory and waste streams in line with EHS requirements
- Act as the first point of contact when equipment goes down
What success looks like at 12 months
Nobody on the science teams has had to think about consumables, calibration is fully current, and equipment downtime is measurably shorter than it was.
What we require
- Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing or technical support environment
- Strong organisation and record keeping
- Comfort dealing with vendors and service engineers
- Ability to lift up to 40 lb and work onsite full time
What we would like, but will teach you
- Prior life science or GMP environment
- Experience with inventory systems
- Military logistics or maintenance background
If you meet the required list, apply. We cap the preferred list at four items on purpose, and we would rather read an application from someone who is 70% there and hungry.
