The role
You will lead a scientific group — setting direction, building the team, and being accountable for the quality and pace of the science it produces.
What you will do
- Set scientific direction and resourcing for your group
- Line manage and develop a team of scientists and research associates
- Own delivery of your group's contribution to program milestones
- Partner with external academic collaborators and CROs
- Contribute to portfolio and governance discussions at leadership level
What success looks like at 12 months
Your group's work is on the critical path of a program and delivering, two people have been promoted or have moved into stretch roles, and your area's data is trusted without a second look.
What we require
- PhD with significant post-doctoral or industry experience in a relevant field
- Experience leading and developing scientists
- Track record of delivering against program milestones
- Strong scientific judgement under uncertainty and incomplete data
What we would like, but will teach you
- Experience across more than one therapeutic area
- History of external collaborations
- Experience contributing to regulatory filings
If you meet the required list, apply. We cap the preferred list at four items on purpose, and we would rather read an application from someone who is 70% there and hungry.
Hybrid — onsite at Cambridge, MA three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and one team-chosen day).
